The Intercessory prayer ministry operates in the supernatural power and authority of Jesus Christ in order to implement God’s plans for Second Baptist Church and its membership through prayer.
The Hospitality Ministry provides a heartfelt welcome to everyone particularly our guest when they are on our campus by positively displaying the love of Christ by fostering warmth, kindness, and an inclusive helpful spirit, making all to feel at home and comfortable at Second Baptist Church.
G.R.A.C.E. (Getting a Real Awesome Christian Experience) is the young adult ministry of Second Baptist Church. Individuals, ages 20-40, have the opportunity to share the faith with other young adults through education, prayer, and exciting fellowship while affirming their unique gifts and talents.
The First Aid Ministry displays a living representation of God’s heart toward His people. They administer first aid, compassion, and care during church services to anyone who may need assistance. In the case of medical emergencies, the ministry assists until medical personnel arrive. It also provides CPR certification training to our ministry members.
The role of the Deacons is to serve as an extension of the Pastor in meeting the needs of the congregation. The responsibilities of the Deacons include but are not limited to prayer, hospital and home visitations, serving communion to the sick and shut in, New Member classes, distribution of benevolence fund, and keeping families
The Culinary Ministry of Second Baptist Church nourishes the Body of Christ with delicious, nutritious meals served with warmth, kindness, and love. Staffing and operating a sanitary, organized, and well-stocked kitchen, its mission is to welcome and nourish the pastor, our members, and guests.
The Christian Caring & Helping Hand ministry provides programs and events to help the community meet basic needs. Its work strengthens our relationship with the community through fellowship, food, meals, clothing, and gifts.
The Christian Board of Education facilitates and promotes the “Christian Life” learning experience of our youth, adult members, church community and neighboring community. It promotes Christian educational experiences that will strengthen our relationship with God.
Children’s Ministry is an experience specifically designed to spark a strong interest in a relationship with God through Jesus Christ for those 12 years old and younger.
BSA Troop 214 Second Baptist Church hosts Troop 214 of the Boy Scouts of America, one of the nation’s largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the importance of responsible citizenship, and develops personal fitness.
